LIBRARY CARDS
Free library cards are issued to anyone who:
1. Lives in Houston County
2. Works full-time in Houston County
3. Owns property in Houston County
4. Goes to school in Houston County
Anyone who does not qualify for a free library card may obtain a card for $25.00 per year .
Cards issued to anyone ages 4 - 13 requires the signature of a parent or legal guardian.
All patrons are required to furnish identification that shows a current living address. P.O. Boxes are NOT acceptable. Patrons who qualify under #2, #3, or #4 must also show proof of workplace, property ownership or school attendance.
Acceptable forms of identification include :
Driver's license
Checkbook
Bills or receipts that show physical address
Hunting or fishing license
Paycheck
Other documents as approved by librarian
Library cards are renewable at expiration date if patron still qualifies for a free card. Please do not throw card away.
Fees:
$5.00 replacement charge for an adult library card
$2.00 replacement charge for a juvenile library card
